She's had a hard year, and she's convinced that if she can clear out the reminders, the heaviness will go with them. Then an older neighbor wanders into the garage sale, picks up a painted rock from that box, and gently tells Donna what she's really holding.

SYNOPSIS

In Not for Sale, Donna is determined to declutter her entire life in one weekend, and her friends Tess and Marlene aren't buying the minimalism excuse. When a quiet neighbor named Edie asks about the box Donna is holding a little too tightly, the truth comes out: a painted rock from the year her husband was in the hospital, a hospital bracelet from the day he came home, a card with a verse that held her together when the job didn't.

Edie shares the story of Samuel raising a stone and naming it Ebenezer, and Donna begins to see that the things she wanted to throw away were never reminders of the battle. They were reminders of the help. The skit closes with a label maker, a wet laugh, and a box set upright on the table like a monument.
