A woman walks into the Cup Emporium looking for one specific cup she read about in a book written by a king. The Sales Manager has a cup for every problem. The 24 karat gold cup full of material blessings. The $999 travel cup with its own navigation system. The 1.2 million dollar party cup, pets available for an extra hundred thousand.
Every one of them is for sale. Not one of them is the cup she described.
The Cup that Overflows is an original 5-minute Christian skit written exclusively for Loving Christ Ministries. Five women, four cups, and a storefront you can stage with almost nothing. Three of the five parts are brief, which makes it one of the easiest skits in the catalog to cast.
The Cup that Overflows was written for the theme bundle Our Cups Runneth Over and pairs beautifully with any message about abundance, provision, and the grace we never had to earn.
SYNOPSIS
In The Cup that Overflows, the Shopper describes her cup one detail at a time, and each detail sends the Sales Manager to another salesperson. Betty's gold cup is so heavy the Shopper can barely hold it. Bonnie's travel cup drags her around the stage. Becky's party cup is full of friends and family, and the Shopper turns it down too. Her table isn't surrounded by friends. It's surrounded by enemies.
That stops the Sales Manager cold. She walks the Shopper to a shelf off to the side where one plain cup sits by itself, and introduces it with noticeably less enthusiasm. It's made of love. It's filled with hope, faith, kindness, goodness, gentleness, patience, self-control, peace, and joy. It's already full to the brim and overflowing, because it was designed to be shared. And it costs nothing, because the master has already paid the price.
