Unity - Christian Skit

They spent the morning setting up a retreat about being one body. It took them until lunch to notice they already were one.

Compassionate Carla and Busy Betty are getting the church hall ready. Puzzled Paula arrives new and nervous, certain she has walked into the wrong room. Humble Heather starts helping without being asked, the way she always does, assuming nobody notices and nobody would miss her if she stopped.

Then Betty loses the sign-in sheet, and the whole room laughs.

Unity is an original Christian skit written exclusively for Loving Christ Ministries. Five women and a church hall you are probably already standing in. The message plays out in the setup rather than the sermon, which is exactly why it works.

SYNOPSIS

In Unity, Carla welcomes Paula by handing her something to do, which is the fastest way to make a newcomer feel useful instead of watched. Betty rushes past, greets her warmly, and is gone again before Paula can answer. Heather works quietly in the background until the others pull her into the conversation, and it's Heather who says that finding your place feels like a puzzle piece finally fitting.

The ice breaks over something small and ridiculous: Betty cannot find the sign-in sheet. In the laughing that follows, Betty finally slows down long enough to admit that being together is the part that matters. The quietest woman in the room is the one who names what has happened, quoting 1 Corinthians 12:12 about one body with many parts, and the four of them join hands and pray.
